Transforming an Unloved Driveway
We recently completed a project that brought new life to a client’s property by upgrading their driveway area and giving their home’s exterior a fresh look. The project focused on turning an unused and neglected space into a functional parking area and rejuvenating the home’s batten and board cladding for a renewed appearance.
Project Scope: From Overgrown to Usable
The project began with a thorough clean-up and preparation of the site. By performing a full site scrape, we removed overgrowth, loose soil, and debris to create a solid base for the parking area. This new space would not only be practical for parking but would also improve accessibility to the side of the house, making the entire property more functional and visually appealing.
Smart Drainage Solutions for Lasting Durability
With the wet months in mind, we installed new drainage capable of managing heavy water flow, directing excess water away from the new parking area. By ensuring the area remains dry year-round, we provided our clients with a reliable and low-maintenance parking solution, free from the issues of pooling and saturation.
Compaction and Gravel for a Clean Finish
To ensure the durability of the new parking area, we compacted the site and added fresh gravel. This gravel provides a flat, functional surface that withstands the weight of parked vehicles and requires minimal upkeep. An added bonus is how the gravel complements the existing stonework on the property, transforming it into a lovely feature that had previously been overshadowed. With the new gravel, the stonework now stands out, adding a charming touch to the overall look.
Refreshing the Home’s Exterior
In addition to the driveway project, we also re-stained the home’s batten and board cladding. This step not only refreshed the home’s look but also provided essential protection for the cladding. The new stain enhances the wood’s natural beauty and shields it from the elements, helping it withstand weather exposure and retain its quality for years to come.
